Spacer

Project investigates on wall which is one of the main elements of a structure and which creates and defines the space. I search for what role wall has had on making a place for one’s self by looking at the evolution of this element and the space throughout the history.

When I first started I had a general idea of what I wanted. As a designer who works in a space, I wanted to investigate on the basics of architecture and try to figure out the reasons where we are today in terms of spatial organization, segregation of the spaces, and spaces for special activities and so on.
However, what really emerged during this process is the clear focus on the nature of the project. It is about the nature of wall but about how walls create flexibility for our living needs and that they define the way we relate to each other, and they define the way we relate to families, changes in our lives, our needs, and functions.

In our age the novelty is flexibility and flexible spaces. We are at the highest peak of the consumption today. Our needs are changing everyday because of new trends and developments. This causes continuously evolving spaces. And as we transform these spaces, they transform us.
